One of the benefits of becoming a member of the Washoe County Medical Reserve Corps is the preparedness information and training you will receive.  Through online courses, classroom training and live exercises, you will learn about the National Response Plan, Incident Command System and National Incident Mangement System; the use of Points of Dispensing and Alternate Care Sites; and how emergenicies are managed and mitigated.  Topics covered will include, natural disasters that are most likely to occur in our area; communicable diseases that could potentially cause a widespread pandemic; and various man-caused disasters and emergencies.  

You will learn how to prepare for and respond to these situations in order to help protect yourself, your family and your neighbors.  Building a well trained and informed populace is vital for the safety of our entire community.
