All members of the Washoe County MRC will be required to prepare a personal/family emergency preparedness plan.  During your orientation session you will receive a packet that will help you complete your plan. 

A disaster supplies kit is a key part of every personal/family emergency plan.   Provisions that would most likely be needed in the event of an emergency include food and water; household supplies; cleaning and sanitation; clothing and bedding; personal hygiene; first aid; tools; and important family documents.  Keep in mind family members with special needs, such as infants, elderly, and the disabled.  Also include items that will provide entertainment, such as games and books.  Provisions should be kept in easy to carry containers with tight-fitting lids.  Water and items with expiration dates should be rotated quarterly.
