Volunteer Orientation 
Each of the one-hour MRC orientation sessions are held every other month at the Washoe County Complex, located at 1001 E. 9th St., Reno, in Bldg. "B" (the Health Department), in Auditorium B. Those interested in volunteering and/or those who have already joined the MRC need only take the orientation session one time. The MRC volunteer orientation calendar for 2011 is as follows: 
August 3, 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
September 29, 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
November 29, 11:30 AM - 12:30 AM.
  

CPR and First Aid classes  
The Washoe County MRC unit offers free CPR/First Aid classes every month in the Central Conference Room, Bldg. "C" at the County Complex, 1001 E. 9th St., Reno. Currently, all CPR classes scheduled through June, 2011 are full. If you are interested or would like to add your name to the wait list, 
please contact Betsy Hambleton, MRC Coordinator, at bhambleton@washoecounty.us or call 328-6111.

National Incident Management class and Incident Command System classes
If you have not already completed the NIMS-700 class, the ICS-100 and ICS-200 course, please log on to the following web links to take the on-line tutorial, followed by the on-line exam. Be sure to allow about three hours for the ICS-100 course, and about two hours for the ICS-200 and NIMS-700 class. Upon completion you will receive an email from FEMA that includes a web link to your certificate of completion -- be sure to forward that email to Betsy Hambleton for your records.

Core Disaster Life Support
This course is highly recommended for MRC volunteers and offers free CMEs and CEUs. 
The AMA and National Disaster Life Support Foundation, Inc. announce the release of a new Electronic Core Disaster Life Support® course (eCDLS®).  Funded by the Department of Homeland Security, eCDLS® is an awareness level, all-hazards course for all potential health system responders.  The 4-hour course comprises nine modules, a pre-test, and a post-test. This course is also available at no charge at:
